I have had success using Relora in the past to lower cortisol. I decided to give it another try and have been taking for several nights before bed. Yesterday morning I woke up from my sleep with a thumping heart and sweating hot flash. I'm so tired of certain supplements giving me this effect =( Keep in mind that I did take theanine for two days also but I've never experienced hot flashes from it. Maybe some depression is all. Initially, I felt great after a dose of Relora, seemed to calm down my high cortisol. Then I read online that not only does it lower cortisol, it also raises DHEA. Enough DHEA will raise estrogen. I'm already severely estrogen dominant but I'm confused because my DHEA isn't extremely high. Unless a lower number is ideal.
Dehydroepiandrosterone [DHEA-S] 4.4 < 9.8 umol/L

So what is happening? Did it raise my estrogen? Was it some rebound cortisol?? GABA effect? Which herb in Relora raises the DHEA because I have seen Magnolia Bark recommended here and have read about it on Hans site MENELITE, even though I am female. Is Phellodendron amurense estrogenic? Does Magnolia Bark work as well on it's own? If both Magnolol and Honokiol compound from Magnolia bark both raise DHEA, then it means this herb is out of the question for me. Thanks for reading!
