Wow, maybe some of what you typed can actually be of use to me and OP. By Irreversible damage I mean the march toward death. No it doesnt need to be linear for you to observe it, though that would make it harder for you to deny. I've got no time for the new age talk though, or anyone trying to speak for the dead. If positive thinking comes at the cost of rationalization they can keep it. In my estimation, Ray aligned himself with reality, and that only looked like generic optimism that trumps what you can see with your own eyes. to people like you, although you would have to ask him.
Just to get an idea of who i'm talking to; here is a serious question; Did Ray Peat suffer from obvious brain insult and present as a man in his twilight years (you can include visual evaluation from The Back of the Tiger Doc.), in the last 5 years of his life or did he not?
Dude, what are you on about? Obviously death is inevitable, and Ray isn't some mystical being capable of transcending all suffering with thyroid supplementation lmao.
You didn't actually address my points, and instead use weird and vague arguments to attacks things I didn't say.

Honestly, man, I don't care. Use your energy to help OP instead.

You can't keep your story straight, so naturally in the pattern of ME replying to YOU, I cant either. I started reading this old thread again this morning. Backtracking and disavowing previous recent subcommunications doesnt clear the clutter. Static points get addressed.

I think you should stop talking and thinking about chemical, and can drop the facade pf charity for mankind that appeared somewhere between here and the top of the page, and give some thought to metaphysics. Not the rich legacy of it, which i dare not comment on, but what is right in front of your face.

If serotonin is serotonin, advice from an offputting stranger is advice from an off putting stranger.

OP has detailed various crises of confidence on the this thread, which is something of value. My point is that the crisis is nothing more than disappointment at the lack of results after adhering to all the advice here. people lie about results here, especially hair re growth, which tortures sensitive members.

This is what happens when you know enough English to use a forum, but not enough to read translations of Lamarck.
Classical education is overrated, move over sex here is the real biggest nothing of all. Always more questions than answers anyway you cut it.

I spoke too soon.
Thats some real dinner party wit there. The habit of blurting out the name of this or that intellectual actually intertwines nicely with some recent findings about mob mentality, I guess it is an important key to feeling a sense of worth and belonging for some. Do you have a pubmed account?

I'm confused, what is the problem?
Are you upset that I addressed OP in a way that you don't like? Are you disagreeing with my ideas on biology? Or, are you attacking some kind of made up version of who you think I am or what I said?
If you stop assuming, and start reading, I don't think there would be that much disagreement. It's kind of hard to debate on biology when you speed off into metaphysics or whatever you're talking about lol.

You point is:

Ok, sure. Seems reasonable enough. But what does that have to do with anything I said? Lol. Seriously, just re-read what I wrote with a clear mind.

I've been a bit better lately. On some days, I actually feel normal/ healthy.
Supplemented 12k IU D3 for a couple of weeks, I now ran out, but ordered Thorne D3+ K2, should be arriving next week. Spring is also here, and I can get morning sunlight on my balcony, which is nice.
Lifting 3 days/ week only, short distance running once or twice a week. My strength in the gym is still a long way to be at its highest, though. I suspect not enough calories one of the reasons.
The only supplements I currently take are Taurine daily and Lactoferrin with Colostrum.
I've also reduced my coffee consumption, I realized too much was giving me anxiety and affecting sleep. Probably from not-ideal liver function.

What are your main symptoms and what worked the best among what you tried?
To put it succinctly, from highest to lowest order of importance:

Non-optimal energy levels due to slow digestion/ bloating/ endotoxin overload (I have made good progress on energy levels in the last couple of months)
ED - inability to get 100% erection and inability to keep it long enough without constant stimulation.(I use some herbal pills and Cialis regularly now)
Low Testosterone(under 300ng/dL last tested), which makes my behavior more fearful and low-vibration.
hairloss/ mpb - I'm about a NW2, it's not that bad, but I really have to halt it at least.
mild gyno
Difficult to hold on to and build muscle mass
Poor dental health/ demineralization

Seems like "metabolic syndrome" constellation of symptoms, which is quite consistent with your fatty liver diagnosis.

It's quite amazing what can be achieved once you re-establish proper OXPHOS.
You keep going in circles with the diet stuff, and skipping over the metabolic derangements that put you here in the first place.

When you say OP is going in circles with the diet, what are the main ways of restoring normal oxphos in your opinion? Genuinely curious if you've had any success with anything particular. I feel like I'm in a similar situation. I can manage symptoms quite well but still extremely stress intolerant - (to the point where I'm going to try megadosing b1 as soon as it arrives in the mail).

I place great value on the Peat principles and the general bio-energetic approach. In theory, I should have been "cured" with some thyroid and with some dietary intervention. Instead, I'm pretty much fully resistant to thyroid and partially resistant to a whole host of pro-metabolic substances. So clearly, those principles are not sufficient, or rather, they don't overcome the cause of the impaired OPXHOS. If boosting general metabolism with thyroid, potently blocking FFA with meldonium, or drastically upregulating key TCA enzymes with high dose B1 or PDK (technically HIF) blockers doesn't work, then clearly there is something suppressing the metabolism. I've tried every single mitochondrial component, all of the vitamins, minerals, and co-factors, and the results were still nil.

There's only three things that I can think of that fight the upregulation of metabolism so strongly, genetically impaired mitochondria, infection/immune dysregulation, and environmental toxins. The former is highly unlikely for a variety of factors therefore the immune stuff and environmental toxins is what's left.

There is a large supply of immune/infection related theories, which makes answering your question impossible. If you go on the ME/CFS phoenix rising forum, you can browse the multitude of theories yourself. ME/CFS kind of overlaps the metabolic condition mentioned above, and in general shares many similarities with my problems, and problems of OP. There's plenty of anecdotal and academic examples of low metabolism, impaired mitochondria, and more. Like I mentioned, the Mikhailia Peterson story is a clear example of immune dysregulation. Her lion diet removed a massive irritant and allowed her health to recover, but she is clearly still sick. It's still a band-aid, the same way high dose B1 is, or TRT, or whatever else.

In my case, it's obvious to me that it's an immune problem. For example, I get near instant remission when I get a cold with a fever. Within 8 hours of the beginning of the fever, I get flawless digestion and bile output and in general feel incredibly normal (besides the fever). My latest theory is a disconnect between the adaptive and innate immune systems. This is presumably due to a genetic mutation that predisposes to this problem, combined with some sort of toxin that has trouble being cleared or is being replenished due to an "active" infection. The entire topic of hidden infections ambiguous, but what is clear are the symptoms indicating that it exists. For example, dogtrainer stated that his/her ? success was from specifically (as much as I remember) MSM dissolved in liquids, and pills didn't work. I talked with other forum members who suggested an idea of a fungal infection in the esophagus which would repopulate the stomach constantly. In dogtrainer's case, it kind of makes sense. Yerrag also constantly talks about the bacteria present in the plaque or something like that. My memory isn't great, so I might get details wrong.

I know this isn't a great answer, but that's because I just don't know. I hope it made some sense, and you could see my logic leading to these conclusions. Increasing protein 10% isn't likely to change much when you are resistant to thyroid, and haven't been able to make anything work. Again, not that more protein is bad, or a wrong thing to do, but it just doesn't achieve much when your mitochondria are failing.

@brightside I am not aware of ME/CFS forum. How does SIBO fit into their paradigm?

Interesting. I've never had that experience.

The fact that my symptoms are worse in the morning and improve in the evening and late at night remains a mystery.
My breathing gets better, I feel more relaxed, more zen as the day progresses. My brain fog reduces to a minimum.
It generally gets better after 5PM.

Oh, that's kind of surprising to me. They have lot's of interesting resources, check them out. Website. Forum
I'm not really sure.

Apparently, it's somewhat common on there.

I've got the same thing as well. It's interesting, that the pro-metabolic effects of time of day are more powerful than a bunch of pro metabolic substances..

@brightside I feel you. It's a tricky one for sure. Thanks for the thorough response.
Yep!
