I think others might have alluded to this already but meaningful human interaction can go along way to us feeling a sense of purpose. There is always someone who has it worse and there is always a way we can make a difference. People think about suicide because they feel trapped and hopeless so if you can find small ways every day to overcome that feeling it will go a long way to helping you feel more hopeful. I try to jot down every night the things I'm grateful for so I don't lose sight of all the really great things in my life that I'm thankful for. Everyone has things to be thankful for but some days it is harder than others to pinpoint those things/situations/interactions etc. Just getting into the practice of being grateful in itself can start to turn thing around.
