I wonder if the Chinese licorice he is referring to is different. I think it's very effective for ulcers and digestive distress but it's blood pressure, estrogen and cortisol increasing attributes are highly noticeable, at least by me. The dose of DGL I take is only 400mg but it's enough to cause kidney aches. Strange herb, so therapeutic, but so hard to handle.
