Unfortunately just had to have a tooth out, one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. But moving forward, does anyone have any tips on promoting healing or anything I might find useful?

Every dentist recommends the saltwater to prevent infection. You don't rinse out anything inside as there's a big blood clot plugging up the hole. Have you ever had an extraction?Injecting glucose and hyaluronic acid stimulates stem cell growth and propagation for tissue formation.
Progesterone topically a few days later promotes the formation of specialised tissue cells for bone formation.
Don't rinse the wound unless you had a big abscess with pus coming out. You will wash out the stem cells.
Enough calcium, collagen, protein and sugar (fruit&honey) are some basics.

I'm getting hungry but apprehensive to eat while still bleeding
Eat. Just don't wash or remove the clot.
Kale? It's vit k1 right? But will it convert? also opinion on using a gauze?Avoid Aspirin untill bleeding has stopped, try vitamine k2 if you have or cheese and liver.

I've had two extractions and both dentists recommended salt water rinses after 24 hrs when the wound is clearly plugged up by a blood clot. If I hadn't done any rinses the area would have looked really nasty. The mouth is full of bacteria.Sure I had extractions and no dentist ever recommended rinsing as no doctor ever recommended to take off the bandage and wash a wound !!! But lots of doctors apply a wound salve.

The gauze supposedly helps to form a clot but after eating the bleeding seems to have almost entirely stopped & the area looks weird & yellow in parts now, hopefully it's starting to scab and isn't infected.Sure vitamin k1 is good too. What is the purpose of the gauze? There should be a blood clot closing the hole.

Thank you both for commenting, I'm a highly anxious person since becoming ill & I tend to constantly ask that everything's okay as the reassurance seems to make everything a little less overwhelming

Don’t mean to hijack, but I have a wound on my chest that has been reopening for over 2 years now after I had minor surgery. Would the same rules apply? I wash it every day and put Medihoney on before covering it with gauze. It heals in a couple weeks but the skin is so weak that it just reopens.

Washing with soap once a week is enough, apart from your hands, face and crotch. A hot body shower and a brush are enough or you deplete your skin from protective cholesterol & longchain fatty acids.
