I know fermented foods should not be a staple food.

But after beeing on pretty strong antibiotics for 10 days (Clindamycin) after an abscess in my mouth. Im also a typ 1 diabetic and these antibiotics have brutally raised my bloodsugar levels.

Im wondering if it makes sense to use some of these foods, kefir bifidus joghurt etc. Is there any truth to the replenishing the good bacteria in the gut with these foods?

I was prescribed doxycycline for acne by a derm. I took it around for 2-3 months if i remember correctly. I started having diarrhea and low energy. I was later prescribed VSL#3(a bifidobacteria probiotic) by a gastro , a single course of which took care of my most symptoms. I don't think you require a probiotic after 10 days of Clindamycin. Not sure why it brutally raised your blood sugar.

Did the antibiotic clear the acne?
