Hi everybody,
I currently am thinking of giving in and start taking anti anxiety meds even though ive heard bad things about anything that raises serotonin significantly. Ive experienced 1st hand what high serotonin does and its scary to be honest, serotonin from weed & alcohol makes me feel like I'm loosing my mind & cant function..ive tried a ton of different supplements for my anxiety and ive been a stutterer all my life and its getting so bad its causing me to not be able to function in society....I wonder if anybody here knows of some safe alternative drugs/supplements that can significantly decrease my anxiety/boost my confidence and mental health?..because its been a absolute living hell for me I must admit...i usually do well with anything that increases dopamine. For example ive started smoking cigarettes again because nicotine seems to be the only thing that brings me out of the serotonin pit of dispare lol...let me know what you guys think is a valid alternative to serotonin increasing anti anxiety meds please. Because if I dont find anything I will have to start taking meds to live daily life and I'm afraid of going down that dangerous rabbit hole so to speak.
Thanks for the help as always!

High doses of progesterone. Stabilizer of brain energy. Neuroprotector.

Memantine?

Tianeptine?

There’s also some more obscure options like etifoxine, tofisopam, afobazol, selank

Stay well away from phenibut as daily use will quickly result in tolerance and potential withdrawal issues.

Propranalol is easy to get prescribed, but only useful for lowering adrenalin (very useful if that’s what you need in certain situations).

Niacinamide could be worth a try. Also cyproheptadine is definitely worth a try as a serotonin receptor antagonist. In general anxiety (and serotonin) can often be caused by endotoxin so activated charcoal with coconut oil may be worth a shot too. Try a teaspoon of baking soda as well, it can have an antiinflammatory action and act as a gut anti-septic

Pregnenolone can also help. Then work on supporting metabolism, raising temps and pulse rate. Try getting lots of vitamin D and calcium

The things that helped my anxiety the most were diet and working on my self-worth but for supplements, I found chamomile and passionflower were safe/gentle and helped to relax me. I even made a balm from coconut oil, vitamin E and chamomile essential oil that I applied to my skin before bed to help reduce night terrors and waking with anxiety. My doctor recommended L-theanine as a natural Xanax. I found it worsened my symptoms, but other members have mentioned it working for them so it may work for you.

It wouldn’t castrate you. It just may have anti-androgenic effects if you take a certain amount that might have that effect in your body. Any such effects would be temporary if you then discontinued it.

I think focusing on improving metabolic rate is really important (for longer term stabilization and just feeling better), as that will improve progesterone/thyroid levels anyway.

Tianeptine and memantine you can just buy online, unless you have a great doctor who would prescribe them for you. Tianeptine ‘modestly enhances enhances dopamine release’ in the misolimbic area according to its Wikipedia page . Memantine upregulates it in certain brain areas. But both are glutamate antagonists (so less brain excitation).

Saturated fats can also calm anxieties. I feel great on low fat diets, but anxiety usually increases too. Adding in saturated fat always reduces the anxiety by quite a bit.

A lot of these things are just bandaid fixes. I think ultimately you need to find the root causes. E.g. eliminate constipation, detox liver/gut (eg liver flushing, coffee enema, pro/anti-biotics), change lifestyle (eg leave toxic home/office environment, get more fresh air & exercise, unplug from fear mongering media etc), clean up diet. Good luck

What kind of anxiety is that? Constant, triggered by something? Varies during the day/night? Have you noticed any correlation whatsoever with your symptoms and something else, even if it looks implausible?

Throughout my whole life ive had social anxiety due to stutturing and getting disrespected because of it..ive had restless leg syndrome & eye twitch most of my life also consistently...in my recent years every day I tend to uncontrollably obsess over negative things (which I recognize as excess serotonin) and ive become way more socially akward & wierd around people. Where as when I was younger I could work and have friends and be normal around them. Now its very hard & causes anxiety...so the anxiety is more or less chronic wether something triggers it or not. I notice things like lifting weights & smoking, cigarettes help for a short time.

Anything that increases DHT and 5AR reduced neurosteroids.
-low dose progesterone (not castration doses) will increase 5AR and allopregnanolone
-glycine to increase progesterone to allopregnanolone conversion
-you can experiment with the supplements mentioned in this article 40 best ways to increase DHT (2020 update) » MENELITE

Yes ive been playing with dht supplements for years but never "steroids" like anavar for,example..the supplements help for a short time but the, effects diminish after awhile. Should I be mega dosing glycine?

Stay away from anything you can't maintain in the long term, so steroids are out of the question. And i don't think you should megadose glycine, i'm not a fan of megadosing stuff.

If dht supplements didn't work then you really really need to figure out what the root cause is, otherwise it's just shooting in the dark.

Oh I'm not saying they didnt help me, because they did make life easier for me but the effects only last for a month at very most...i think the root cause mostly aside from endotoxin in my gut possibly is being raised & living around toxic people and my speech problem...these are social problems that are not easily solved unifortunitly & has led me towards smoking tobacco & weed to cope. But I have faith things will workout.

I recently bought the bi-tapp devices that vibrate on alternate sides of the body. I often put them on my ankles so no one can tell i I have them on. They're expensive, but I feel I huge difference in my anxiety when I wear them all day.

Thanks for that info! How much do they cost on average?

What are the safe dosages for mematine . tianeptine? And should these 2 be cycled as not to cause tolerance or rebound side effects if stopped, or are they safe to take daily indefinitely?
