Also interesting that the wikipedia page on Flowers of Sulfur has no information. Refers you to the Sulfur page where there is no mention of the Flowers.

Is the Humco sulfur the same thing as flowers...? I guess so from other info on the site. Thanks. :)

I just purchased some of the Humco sulfur from Amazon. IIRC, the Humco sulfur is labeled as "sublimed sulfur," which, according to Wikipedia, is the same as flowers of sulfur.

Oh, thanks! I just did some more searching and some people say they got theirs at WalMart at the Pharmacy window. If I do find it there, I'll put it in the supplements info section. They said you so have to ask for "sublimed sulfur" to get your point across.

I've checked amazon and the Flowers of Sulfur are discontinued. (They have discontinued Thiroyd from Thailand too.)
Would you mind saying where are you all getting yours? Our local supplement store doesn't carry FOS either.

Here ya go Birdie.

Thanks, Charlie!
I just went to WalMart. The man behind the counter ordered it and said it would be there Tuesday. We shall see if it's the real thing. I spelled out sublime for him. Then, he found it described as sulfur flower powder.

Yep, I even did an extra day. Crappy thing is though, still got thrush on the tongue. :(

Makes for lots of bubbles and gurgling of the belly. {TMI alert next sentence.} Brings about a little hershey squirt action for me. And made me really freaking thirsty! I been checking what little bit of poo that I am able to pass and have not seen any parasites. Gonna do a big clean out(magnesium citrate) again in a couple days so will keep checking.

Oh, and I felt really good the last couple days. Not sure if it was connected, or if that was the 2 good days I usually get a month or what. :dance

Oh, and a little word of caution. I think it is good to mix it into something like syrup, whatever, so that its wet and not dry when you put it in your mouth. If its dry, you have a chance of inhaling the sulfur and that can be irritating.

Charlie, on the thrush thang:
I was thinking of,
when I do my internal dose,
maybe just dabbing that dose
a little bit at a time
all over my tongue.
Then swallowing.

And I was gonna ask about the constipation,
because the sulfur is supposed to have a mild laxative action.
I gather that happened with you--
maybe beyond mild?
So...this is a good thing, right?

No, it was just a slight squirtage, not much at all. What I did notice is was a lot of mucousy type stuff, bile maybe?

Hmmhh.
That's interesting.
Mucousy...I wouldn't think bile.

On the thrush:
According to traditional Chinese medicine
(and maybe standard Western, too; don't know),
the normal tongue has a light, thin white coating.
So...not necessary for all the white coating to be gone to declare victory over thrush.

I've had very good success with coconut oil swishing and fresh garlic.
Thrush almost gone.
Before I got the sulfur I saw that fresh garlic had like 13 or 31 (can't remember)
different sulfur compounds in it.
So I minced up a clove of really strong fresh garlic and held it in my mouth for about 5 minutes.
Man...that was some strong garlic.
It was hard to do.
My eyes were watering like crazy
and my tongue was burning.

Its more of a yellowish coat on the tongue. I need to do some coconut swishing, maybe will throw in some garlic to what the heck.

How do you separate a bacterial coat on the tongue from a fungal one? A doctor told me it was from bacteria in my case but I wonder how I can exclude Candida.

And another question: What's the difference between Flowers of Sulfur aka Brimstone Logs and MSM Sulfur (http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-MSM-Sulfur-Powder-35-3-oz-1-kg/344)? Is that the same?

JohnE-

From what I've found through my admittedly somewhat cursory web reseach.
1. There is a big difference between Flowers of Sulfur and MSM;
can't substitute the MSM for the Flowers of Sulfur at all,
or vice versa.

2. With the tongue coating:
I looked at a pretty thorough Traditional Chinese medicine website
which showed pictures of a normal healthy tongue vs many unhealthy tongues.
(I don't know how credible Traditional Chinese medicine is for you, but...
I figure they probably know a healthy, normal tongue when they see one
after thousands of years of observation. )
Anyhow: the normal, healthy tongue is supposed to have a little, thin layer
of non-slimy coating, and reddish-pink.
The unhealthy tongues were, like, no coating and pale,
or very coated with thick white yukky stuff and slimy.
