Doctors hate him! Prepare to be shocked. Use Haidut's one weird trick to reduce belly fat in 30 short days.

Doctor's do hate me but for a different reason. My "weird tricks" is just a well-honed BS radar:): Man, does it go off around doctors, especially the specialists.

All of this is accurate. My diet evolves like everything else in this life. Right now, it is pretty similar to what you said but I find that even less restriction sometimes helps if I still want to eat sensibly from whatever is available in the store. This means, that on average the only restrictions I can fully comply with without becoming orthorexic are avoiding PUFA, starch, and legumes. From the vegetables, I try to eat the green stuff due to the calcium and magnesium in the leaves. If I am at work and go to the local organic caffeteria and the only food they have available for the day is either Tofu (which I absolutely hate, independently of Peat's opinion) or baked cod with potatoes - I'll take the latter since I don't have the time to go another store a mile away to get something more Peat-friendly. If it wasn't cod but salmon then I wouldn't buy it and either get my cheese sticks from CVS or try to get carnitas bowl from Chipotle or something. There so many variables to consider and sometimes it comes down to choosing the least harmful among available foods that do not requires walking a few miles during work time.
What about fruit / fruit juice? Or is soda your main sugar source?

And arent the carnitas cooked with vegetable oil?

People are now asking me for the copy of the book and how they can watch the show:) Can you please clarify that it was a joke? Otherwise, I will have to write a book expeditiously.

I think it's very telling that doctors are "triggered" so easily.

My question also!!

I do drink fruit juice when available. What I am saying is that I won't go out of my way to get it. If all I happen to have that day is Coke/Pepsi, that will be the main source of sugar that day.
Chipotle told me that they use no oil to cook the Carnitas. Sure, there is some PUFA in the pork naturally, but the sowercream and cheese I add to it balance it out. It is the SFA/PUFA ratio that is more important than absolute PUFA value.

There's obviously quite a bit of rice bran oil in the rice at chipotle. Dunno how worth worrying about it is. Doesn't stop me from eating once a month or so.

@haidut do you eat the salads to compensate the Coke/Pepsi (in the sense of missing out the calcium and magnesium that is present in orange juice)?

I was thinking about doing that myself maybe, because I don't react good on fruit juices for some reason, so I mainly live on potatoes and milk.

What kind of salads are we talking about then? Lettuce? Kale?

And dressing? I can't find a Peat friendly dressing...which makes the salad IMO.

Haidut,

Can you be specific about what "meat" you eat? Do you mean ground beef, steaks, or is the majority of your "meat" seafood? Thanks very much for your input and contributions here!

p.s. Haidut, your advice continues to be amazing--thank you!!

I just eat salad (kale, lettuce, spinach) when I crave it, not to compensate for deficiency of some sort. This usually means eating salad 2-3 times a week.

I like stews and steaks, so beef/lamb/goat are all fair game. If I eat pork, I try to get the lean meat only. Carnitas from Chipotle is relatively lean pork and it is convenient when I am at work. Seafood like shrimp, oysters, cod, and trout I usually eat 1-2 times a week as available from the cafeteria next to work. They have fish every day but I avoid tuna, salmon, swordfish, herring, etc.

Do you drink HFCS Coke/Pepsi or just real sugar?
