OJ And Salt Makes My Eye Twitch

Hey y'all,

I drink Orange Juice with 3 tsp great lakes gelatin and 100 mg niacinamide almost daily and whenever I add salt to it it makes my eye twitch almost immediately after the first sip. Kinda strange. When I don't put salt in it I don't twitch. Anyone know why this could be? Just curious. I realize the solution is just not to put salt in the oj but interested in why it has this effect on me. Thanks

i think maybe electrolytes...you have potassium(OJ) interacting with the sodium chloride (salt) they both can interact with calcium and fire the nerve. potassium and sodium antagonize each other since it is instant then this is happening right in your mouth and triggering a nerve.

Thanks! Yeah I think is definitely something about the potassium. Doesn't happen when I salt my food or milk. Eye twitch is definitely something I get when stressed however this is immediate and seems different than when I am under chronic stress..
