This is about the mentality of bodybuilding/weightlifting forums online. For people having a hard time gaining weight they're often recommended to smother their meals in olive oil, extra sour cream on your potatoes and even going to the absurdity of olive oil shots. Basically adding fat with no nutrients into your meals wherever possible. And most of them think this advice is a-ok.
But if you suggest eating extra sugar for calories from say from soft drinks or whatever, they freak out.
Anybody got ideas as to why this is? What's the mentality behind this apart from "extra fat ok, extra sugar bad bcuz"?
