It is claimed that Red raspberry seed oil has an SPF of 28-50.

It was my intention to wear this over an anti-oxidant serum for added sun protection.

However, it turns out Red raspberry seed oil contains very high levels of PUFA.
Don't PUFA detiorate easily in light and heat quickly?

There are also numerous natural/organic labels selling facials oils.
Some claiming their oil blend can filter UVA light but those too contain high levels of PUFA.

Does someone know whether there are other mechanisms at play that make these high PUFA oils
protective in sunlight or is it best avoid them all together?

For an oil, being protective isn't an intrinsic property of the PUFA in it but the other compounds that are also part of it.
I like using a little bit of tea tree oil for burns but it isn't the PUFA that's beneficial, it's something else. Nevertheless, PUFAs are supposedly metabollaised the same way, regardless of where they comes from.

Thank you for the link. Guess I will not try the RRSO then ...

I wonder, does Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides contains PUFA?

Would it be equally beneficial as Virgin coconut oil?
