Like to share my sisters experience she was diagnosed hypo, pcos, pre diabetic. She went to many doctors. Thyroxine worked at first but then she started ending up at the ER with hyper symptoms/ high adrenaline and high cortisol. Imo she didnt eat enough carbs to counter her thyroxine dosage but shes been braim washed carbs are bad. Think she learned her lesson now. Anyway eventually she god feed up and decided to spend a lot of money to see a specialist in autoimmune disease. This doctor put her on a vitamin D protocol at 50 000 IU daily for a few months also monitoring her vit D and calcium monthly. She basically became symptom free within 3 months. Her appearance completely changed. Went from pale and look tired to golden skin glowing of energy. It was kinda baffling me how it could have sucha profound effect. She said she havent felt so good in many years. And also like to add she lost several kilograms of fat. Imo shes a bit too thin atm but she says she feel great so I dont care but vitamin D defo helped her lose a lot of weight.
What vitamin D supplement did she use?

Did she continue with thyroid meds while taking D3? How much calcium did she typically get in? How much magnesium? What other supplements?

no she stopped thyroud meds even before starting D3. They made her too sick. She doesnt eat much calcium. Mainly from diet. She changed to paleo diet. Lots of sweet potaties, coconut oil, fruit, vegetables, meat, liver and fish. She buy only organic fresh food now. No processed. Before she ate a more normal diet of homecooked, fast food, restraunt foods. Nothing special. She doesnt eat dairy. Magnesium she uses usually 300-400mg but during the high dose vitamin D protocol she was taking 800mg. No vitamin A, K2 or calcium supplements. No other supplements except 50 000 IU vit D3 and 800mg magnesium.

I dont know she doesnt track her nutrients. She didnt get any symptoms of low potassium. Only major improvements in her autoimmune diseases. Doctor was monitoring her blood values. She had normal potassium on labs. Hard to get potassium deficient like truly. Besides she ate a lot of potassium rich foods. Potatoes are really high, so are many other fruits and vegetables. Probably hitting her daily allowance on most nutrients. If there was anything I doubt she was hitting 1 gram calcium. More like 500mg but thats what vitamin D does. It regulates calcium absorption from diet so if the body needs more it just activates more vitamin D through PTH. She eats lots of leafy greens, kale spinach etc.

This is a great story. I have been ramping Vitamin D back up, currently at 20,000 IU orally with an additional 5,000 IU topically a day. I've been wondering if my lack of results last time were due to the brand I was using, I switched to a brand that had 50,000 IU, but it had no fat in the capsule. Anyway, I plan on doing a blood test around the beginning of the year, and will adjust based on that.

Interesting thread.

Topical vitamin D in a dose of 5000 IU per day resulted in levels of ~38 ng/mL (95 nmol/L) in this study:

That seems like a pretty safe bet.

Last winter my levels were at 20 ng/ml. I haven't realy checked it since then nor supplemented but im starting again now and test my levels in the upcoming week. The last few days i took between 2000-3000 IU. It basicly takes care of cold hand/feets (if i combine it with a b complex) for the majority of the day and my sleep seems to be deeper. BUT it makes "going to sleep" harder and makes me feel more stressed.

Not sure what to make of that experience. Maybe my levels have been to low for to long and it makes my metabolism go nuts, because this dosage is incredibly low.

Im realy looking forward to your experience with thoose dosages. May i ask what results in particular you are expecting from this?

Interesting that the doc did not have her on K2. Thanks for sharing her success.

Do you mind sharing if you take any other supps with this, like A, K2, or E?
K2 I always take, will probably be on it for the rest of my life. Awesome vitamin.

I get quite a bit of E as well right now. I do take some additional A, and do eat liver about every two weeks.

Seriously?

You get 180 pills of 10,000 iu on Amazon for $15.

You can also find bottles 120 pills at 50,000 iu for under $20.

This is one of the cheaper experiments you can run.

Maybe actually look at a few brands first?

Check out Sports Research, and Viva Naturals.

Both of them only contain coconut oil, gelatin, glycerin, and water, along with Vitamin D.

Carlson also has drops that are in MCT oil.

I've been using Relentless Improvement for a while.

I've used Kuinone in the past, but haven't in a while. That was back in the DMSO days. Might have to give that another try.
