Is This Due To High Cortisol?

I have been involved in body building for a long time. In the last few years I exercise less frequently than I used to due to some health matters. I notice whenever I take long breaks from the gym, my legs and glutes athropy very rapidly, but my upper body remains the same. I saw an article talking about cortisol mainly breaking down the muscles of the lower body, just as all of the old people I know have very skinny lower bodies. I would like to know what you know this matter. Thanks!

This interests me as well. Legs look like auschwitz when I don't work them out. Upper body can maintain for weeks w/o gym.

Ive seen research that suggests when the organs are inflamed it cuts of nutritional supply to the glutes and hamstrings and is part of why you can see so many people walking around with big guts and no ****.

It is known in the bodybuilding community that the lower body is the first to atrophy with age. Take a look at older bodybuilders.
