Palmin brand = hydrogenated coconut oil
Almost every supermarket has it :) it‘s in a block of cubes a 16g per cube. 1,50€
Well, saturated fat is hydrogenated by nature. Palmin just seperates the unsaturated fats and hydrogenate them aka make them saturated. Then they mix them back together and you get a fully hydrogenated coconut oil. It is deodorized too, no coconut taste. :)
Just don‘t buy Palmin „Soft“ that‘s something different. You need to get the 250g blocks that look like a thick chocolate bar package.
No they don‘t. They do exactly what I wrote above.
Here they explain the process.
Können durch die Fetthärtung Transfettsäuren entstehen? - Palmin
But how can they offer for such a low price? Palming is cheaper than coconut oil even if coconut oil is its source ?
Seems a bit fishy to me...
...
Not sure what they say,but it is pretty saturated:
Yeah let's hope they don't put hydrogenated fish oil in there
But how can they offer for such a low price? Palming is cheaper than coconut oil even if coconut oil is its source ?

Wow if that's really true than why isn't everyone using that instead of "normal" coconut oil ?That‘s just marketing from the companies that sell the unrefined stuff. Unrefined is marketed as healthier so they can put a premium on it. That‘s also the reason why brown sugar is more expensive. It makes no sense, but that‘s the current state of affairs.
Does 100% saturated hydrogenated coconut oil even exist? I've never seen it, the hydrogenation process makes it more saturated but not 100% saturated. If you want 100% saturation, get MCT oil.Yup sure is really saturated, but I'd like a 100% saturated product.

Also is the same kind of hydrogenated coconut oil that ray uses and talks about ?
Wow. So there's really no reason not use it ?! Do you use it yourself?Yup it‘s the same kind! Palmin just adds air to make it easier to handle, I don‘t know if other brands do that.
