Like most people who are new to Ray Peat and his ideas including nutrition, it (his articles and podcasts) can bring some whirlwind of confusion and inner conflict which I'm still trying to recover.
So far the concept is to get my metabolism to optimal.
First things first, instead of adding thing to my wellness, I must stop doing things to harm myself. So, stop or severely reduce PUFA being #1.
Two, using simple and easy to use foods to achieve my goal: Milk, OJ, and cheese as main source of food while utilizing meat with gelatin, seafood, and some organ meat to hit the macros and calorie intake (2500 cal +/- & 150g protein, 300g + carbs/sugar + less than 75g fat).
Three, while monitoring the temperature and pulse, start n = 1 journey and supplements relating to thyroid function.
Self info: Male, 53 yo, 5'7", 175 lbs, no major health issues.
History: Intermittent Fasting for past 7 + years evolved from Leangains to Paleo to Ketogenic and to Epi-paleo with very little sugar. At least I cycled a cheat day and/or high carb (desserts and rice/pasta) day once a week.
Problems so far with RP concept to implement: Gas, gas and more gas and leads to diarrhea. <---This is largely due to milk IMHO. I have not drank milk since mid 1980's but do eat cheese without issues.
Feedback and suggestion is much appreciated.
