Ok guys, I just went to a holistic doctor to have my hernia treated. He believes that the body can self heal given the right conditions and it can be done by nourishing the body with a bunch of high quality supplements.
This is a guy that have successfully treated cancer patients before and rich businessman have actually visited him for consultation, so I think he is onto something.
Just like Ray Peat, he believes that saturated fats are the best fats for cooking and PUFA can oxidize quickly. There are also differences like he believes that high dosing vitamin C is better than calcium. He doesn't believe that people can get all the nutrients through just foods.
I was given a whole bunch of supplements like 24 or something to be taken per day. One of the things I found out that it has EPA/DHA in it which I assume is fish oil. He does know his stuff however and told me that he has also given me vitamin E to counteract in ingesting too much fish oil and adds that fish oil is essential.
If it wasn't for the vitamin E, I would have kind of freak out but I just calmly accept and decide to give it a shot if the pain I am experiencing can actually be alleviated as he said.
Now my question is... does a 1000mg fish oil means it has a gram of PUFA? If so, I guess it isn't too bad since a Ray Peat diet can have at least <5g. Correct?
