And let's not forget some cultures still marry their first cousins not only along the times of history.
I am not sure if some of you are aware but until not long ago it was not uncommon that a house to be shared between 2 brothers that had their own families, and it is still something that happens today in some cultures, especially non-urban ones as I know first hand. Cousins sometimes would marry and basically these were cousins that literally grew up together in the same house.
In the modern world let' say after the big forced industrialization of the world in the 60s these things became quite uncommon quickly, not being tided to the land, and having to go away for work or studying it become very common, connecting people from different backgrounds more than ever.
