(increased copper intake in brain area after injury, trying to repair) Assessment of Traumatic Brain Injury by Increased 64Cu Uptake on 64CuCl2 PET/CTThe concentration of myelin basic protein increases markedly in cerebrospinal fluid of infants with acute head injury [3]. Head trauma can produce demyelination [4]. Cognitively impaired former football players had abnormalities of white matter on magnetic resonance imaging of brain
Copper is a nutritional trace element required for cell proliferation and wound repair. Results: At 24 h after intravenous injection of the tracer, uptake was significantly higher in the injured cortex of TBI mice (1.15 ± 0.53 percentage injected dose per gram of tissue [%ID/g]) than in the uninjured cortex of mice without TBI (0.53 ± 0.07 %ID/g, P = 0.027). Conclusion: Overall, the data suggest that increased 64Cu uptake in traumatized brain tissues holds potential as a new biomarker for noninvasive assessment of TBI with 64CuCl2 PET/CT.
Thanks cs, i will look closer...maybe things that increase BDNF (that arent themselves damaging) (in balanced doses)
treatment of traumatic brain injury, several of the studies showed promising results and there is evidence of a positive correlation between increased BDNF expression and improved functional outcome
& progesterone might be worth looking into
Need for good myelin repair after injury,
so u especially want good copper & thyroid function. probably high vit b5 intake also

Happy New Year All... unfortunately my wife slipped with socks on a slippery staircase and fell about 15 steps and was unconscious for about 3 minutes. Since then she has had problems with verbal fluency due to this concussion. I search on Ray Peat Forum but no discussion of concussion...raypeatforum.com

Thanks so muchHomeopathic arnica
Rhodiola rosea
Thank lamassukeeping inflammation low, good thyroid function, progesterone, magnesium and calcium
Red light treatmentHas anyone a supplement suggestion for concussion, besides allready established behavior like good sleep, no blue light, calmness ect?
Well, that says it all. Just received progest-E would you bwt know approx dose for a 135 pound female?“A review of experimental TBI studies indicates that progesterone infusion results in reduced neuronal loss, enhanced remyelination, improved functional recovery, and an overall decrease in cerebral edema.”

Ray Peat says you can’t overdose on the stuff, besides it having an anesthesia effect. More is required if applying on the skin and less if on the gums, and with the gums it goes quicker into the blood stream.Well, that says it all.
