Just tested GGT for the first time along with ALT, AST, and bilirubin.
I know that every time I run a blood test, my total bilirubin is always higher than the reference range. I was diagnosed with a fatty liver over 2 years ago, and I probably still have some liver problems. My ALT and AST were in the range, 21 and 22, respectively, where the range is below 50. However, I observed something extraordinary today as I have never tested for GGT in the past. My GGT was 8 U/L where the range is from 14-62. This is what shocked me and is very strange. Most people have higher GGT levels and I have never heard of low GGT levels before.
Currently, I take TUDCA, a tablet of aspirin, sometimes choline bitartrate, and started taking milk thistle 2 weeks ago.
Does anyone have a clue about what is going on? What might cause the low GGT levels?
