Thanks for thisIt's caused by autonomic dysfunction / predominance of sympathetic tone which leads to noradrenaline-induced peripheral vasoconstriction, with erections entirely dependant upon vasodilation of the penile corpus cavernosum.
Low testosterone, elevated estrogen, cortisol and prolactin, hypothyroidism, etc, etc, can all lead to chronic, unosspossed sympathetic activation.
