Why P*rn Is Toxic For Men

Porn wires the brain to enjoy and get pleasure from other people having sex on a screen. That makes real sex less pleasurable and often difficult to even achieve.

The key though is to avoid fantasy. Avoiding fantasy is the missing piece for men who avoid porn and find that they aren’t benefiting.

You use various distraction techniques when a fantasy enters your brain. Practice talking to girls and looking them in the eye. After awhile (it can take many months) you won’t have sex scenes playing in your head anymore and you will enter a new level of connection with women.

I'm not so sure it's avoiding fantasy, but avoiding someone else's fantasy. Men who use modern internet porn aren't engaging fantasy at all, just watching a movie. Memories or still images like in dirty magazines is a different sort of experience.

I'm not cheer leading for porn, but I find it interesting that we as a society have NO problem with our addiction to violence (for decades and decades). Every show, movie, or game is based around guns and killing, knives and stabbing, etc. You are vilified if you watch a movie with two people having sex (something natural and what life was predicated on), but you can watch all the blood and guts you want. The next time you watch TV or view movie lists, amaze yourself how we are fed the mindset that violence, etc. is entertaining, and,of course, won't brain- wash our children to think it is okay We glorify wars with movies, cop shows, and there is relatively no time in any show that some sort of violence doesn't occur. The school shootings and all the crimes you see out in the street didn't get their ideas from porn. I don't No-Fap, and I don't wack off several times a day, but I'll take pron over the mind poisoning crap that most of humanity seems to think is just okay.

Violence is not addictive. People don't start wanting to look at people stabbing each other or something after not watching any violent shows for a few weeks.

But I agree with other posters who say the problem is more so the desire to watch porn (learned helplessness) than porn itself. If the demand weren't there in the first place then porn wouldn't exist.

And even then it's better to crave porn imo than to be zombified and complacent with being stuck in learned helplessness.

But I think the best route to take is to stop porn use, figure out what's causing the desire for porn/learned helplessness in the first place, and then fix that so that you are neither zombified nor watching porn/masturbating.

What would have people done before porn? Before they never felt trapped in a cage? There was no excessive masturbation before porn or there wasn't any masturbation at all?
I am really curious what happened before porn was accessible at the tips of your fingers and what about before when there was no porn at all to be seen?
I can't agree with that, talking to my Dad and Uncles, who grew up in the day and age of no TV, just radio, they both told me they waxed their carrots on a regular basis. If you are human, and have good hormones and desire, you are going to take care of business, and if you have a brain and an imagination you don't need porn to preempt masturbation. It's just this generation that is co-dependent on porn, just like they are co-dependent on computers, cell phones, and every other form of AI. When I was in my teens I masturbated all of the time thanks to a revved up puberty, no porn needed. What happened before porn was accessible? The same thing, they just didn't need porn to do it, they had minds, imaginations, proper hormone levels, and desire to fulfill the the urge to satisfy themselves, because in those days you could not rely on other people to do it for you, thanks to this Puritanical, Quakeristic society.

In my experience excess ejaculation wipes me out. After a few days of marathon sex with a new girl, ejaculating 3 or more times a day and I'm physically wiped followed by a week or so of lowered motivation.

I think both porn and excess ejaculations are not a good idea in the long run.

With that said, I think the easiest way to fix a porn habit is to start seeing a girl. I think this is better than just going "hard mode" or whatever because it actually reverses the conditioned stimulus of watching people having sex with porn to actually participating in sex with a real person. Once you do this then you can start working on controlling your ejaculation, and then eventually seperating your orgasm from your ejaculation. During this time masturbation can be helpful in learning to control the orgasm and seperate orgasm from ejaculation, especially if masturbation is coupled with awareness. Once you seperare orgasm from ejaculation you can have sex as many times as you want with as many girls as you want without wiping yourself out.

I picked this up from reading about the Tao after having some conversation on here with our resident @ecstatichamster about karezza. The Tao believe in semen retention and I have found that semen retention has made me much stronger, more focused, more disciplined and physically healthier. I'm currently working on seperating my orgasm from my ejaculation; both sex and masturbation help (and kegels and diaphragmatic breathing). In regards to how often to ejaculate, the Tao recomend:
-once every 4 days in your 20's
-once every 8 days in your 30's
-once every 16 days in your 40's
-once every 32 days in your 50's

For transparency, initially I questioned the validity of this and you can see in some of my comment history I was a bit sarcastic about it but eventually by being aware of myself and how I felt I realized that I was becoming demotivated and fatigued after ejaculating.

Also, besides porn: TV, streaming services, smart phones in many of thier everyday applications, politics, the so called news, social media, video games, alcohol, and marijuana are other addictive areas of modern day society that I think are degrading to the individual overall. Just as with watching what you eat, watching what else you "ingest" and participate in has become a neccessity.

even if you don't watch porn be careful from staring at women's body in the street because it will make you fantasize about them at the end of the day and that will cause you to masturbate.

Alright that's great to read, more info on the matter of Before-Porn.

I think that sex today is far from the sex before pornography became massive. An example would be the classic porn ending with the ejaculation on the face, I am sure in 1920 that was far from the 95%s fantasy.
I remember the first time I saw porn at a friends house, I was probably 12 and unaware of the common porn fantasies. When the guy finished by ejaculating on the girls face/in her mouth I was so surprised and disgusted by the concept that I puked all over the place. Now as a corrupted adult I of course like seeing facials.

My family didn't get a computer until I was 15, so growing up I used to masturbate without porn all the time. There is a huge difference between those days and when I started using porn.

No porn: I would masturbate when I was horny, finish within 10-20 minutes.
Porn: Masturbate out of boredom. Spend hours chasing the dopamine rush finding the perfect video and edging for hours.

Overall it comes down to how you use it any why. But I feel most younger men these days are definitely messing up their neurotransmitters.

I notice that too. Something like the Avengers series- not really bloody violence, per se, but violence nonetheless, and probably leaves imprinting on children psyches that violence can solve any problem. Most parents are perfectly ok having their kids watch all the series, collect the toys, costumes, etc.
But a movie that shows a woman's breasts? Sound the alarm! Can't expose our kids to such filth!

It comes up often but who do you think has majority control over porn industry and Hollywood? Same group. People think its a conspiracy theory. No its a damn fact actually. POLEZ is not fake.
