So the sucrose doesn't feed candida ?

Try incorporating coconut oil and/or garlic to your diet it works good for gut critters.

Not that I know. I don't feel like it at least. In fact yesterday I take sugar and one rash disappeared in thirty minutes. It's weird because fruits make it reproduce like crazy. Who knows...

Hi peatarians. I have looking for a forum like this all my life. I love health and nutrition and I KNEW the mainstream media was full of ***t. Thanks for everything.

I would love to contribute something back for all of you. A subject that is not touch really in this forum and I think have a lot importance is vitamin D. I'm going to try to explain it in the best way I can. Sorry for grammar mistakes, English is not my first language.

So, the theory is simple. When the levels of vitamin D are low, your body thinks is winter. This can be proven using bears: the signal that make a bear hibernate is the fall of vitamin D in the blood. So, what's happen in winter? Food is scarce. The logical adaptation for your body is going to make everything possible to send you to the cave and wait for better times. Depression, fragile bones, diabetes (sugar is a great antifrozen), fatigue, low libido (no need to reproduce if the mother and the baby are going to die)...basically your body is creating your illness, trying to save you in the winter time.

This is the theory. Now, the practice. There are a lot of people talking HUGH doses of vitamin D out there to treat a lot of complications, since MS to infertility, low libido, blurry vision..mthe list goes on and on. I'm talking about doses ranging from 30,000 to 150,000 IU's of vitamin D3 daily. And people are getting cured.

There is a Brazilian doctor treating MS with a 95% succes rate megadosing vitamin D3, Dr. Coimbra. In the book "The miraculous results of extremely high doses of vitamin D3" there are dozens of reviews of people getting cured of almost anything.

--

Norm Shealy MD PhD is very strong on megadosing Vitamin D. He has, in the past, recommended 50,000 units a day. I am not sure if that's his current recommendation. He urges regular checking of calcium levels as a safety precaution.

VITAMIN D3 – MOST CRITICAL SUPPLEMENT

Re candida - I've found Nystatin plus Interfase (regular) to be extremely helpful there. Nystatin is quite gentle (but I don't know what RP thinks of it).

I have systemic Candida and is a pain in the **** selecting for food

From Marc Sircus' book on iodine:

"Some doctors see cancer tumors having characteristics very similar to yeasts. “Seaweeds (iodine) have exceptional value in the treatment of Candida overgrowth. They contain selenium and [all the] other minerals necessary for rebuilding immunity; furthermore the rich iodine content is used by enzymes in the body to produce iodine-charged free radicals that deactivate yeasts. Before the advent of anti-fungal drugs, iodine was the standard medical treatment for yeasts. When candidiasis is complicated with tumours or cancers, then seaweed is of additional benefit. Salt should normally be restricted during Candida overgrowth.”

" In 1953 Dr. Orian Truss discovered the devastating effects of antibiotics in an Alabama (USA) hospital. During a hospital round Truss was intrigued by a gaunt, apparently elderly man who was obviously dying. However, he was only in his forties and in hospital for four months. No specialist had been able to make a diagnosis. Out of curiosity Truss asked the patient when be was last completely well. The man answered that he was well until six months before when he had cut his finger He had received antibiotics for this. Shortly afterwards he developed diarrhea and his health deteriorated. Truss had seen before how antibiotics cause diarrhea. It was known that Candida was opportunistic and thrived in debilitated patients, but now Truss wondered if it might not be the other way round, that Candida actually caused the debilitated condition.
Truss had read that potassium iodide solution could be used to treat Candida infestation of the blood. So he put the patient on six to eight drops of Lugol’s solution four times a day and soon the patient was again completely well. Soon afterwards he had a female patient with a stuffy nose, a throbbing headache, vaginitis and severe depression. To his amazement all her problems immediately cleared with Candida treatment."

This, and more information about vitamin D3 than most would ever care to know about, is indeed discussed in the book linked below. Considering all the targeted information one can receive for this ridiculously low Kindle version, I consider it a must read.

The Miraculous Results Of Extremely High Doses Of The Sunshine Hormone Vitamin D3 My Experiment With Huge Doses Of D3 From 25, 000 To 50, 000 To 100, 000 Iu A Day Over A 1 Year Period: Jeff T Bowles: 9781491243824: Amazon.com: Books
I read this book yesterday. It's a very interesting theory.

Coimbra's work is intriguing.

10k iu vitamin D for a month and a bit last year appeared to deplete my progesterone levels (at a guess). It made me socially retarded essentially - completely blank and unexpressive - people also responded very poorly I assume because of my lack of facial expression.

If you need to megadose something it's either because your body isn't uptaking it properly (bile flow?) or because the body is limiting intake of that particular substance for good reason, imo!

The hibernation theory is certainly an interesting thought, though.

That guy also thinks sugar is evil, prefers whey protein and makes sensationalist arguments like "Vitamin D is in rat poison" which is true but not actually relevant. His argument that vitamin D is bad because it reduces parathyroid gland activity is quite strongly based on a different view on metabolism than Peat's, and since Peat is in my experience typically right, I'm going to side with Peat.

My serum vitamin D3 was around 50 with 5000 iu of vitamin D3 each day and k2-mk4 5 mg 3 times a week. I became too fell tired knees and heaviness legs. In the gym, my squats becomes to feel weaker, like my legs getting rusted. My bench press becomes to get stronger than my squats. So I stopped taking vitamin D3 and yes, my legs become stronger and lighter again.

I think I get calcification from the D3, even taking K2!! Very strange!
