So, which oils are you not supposed to use, and what was the reason?

That would exclude oranges, and just about every fruit for that matter
RP says to eat juicy fruits like oranges and watermelon raw and non-juicy fruits cooked, like apple sauce, compotes, pies and jellys. I like to soak berries overnight, or longer, until all the fruit drains it’s juices into the water, drain, sweeten it and oh my is it ever good!

Let me be a bit more clear and annoying:

I'm not looking for pasta sauces. I try to avoid tomatoes anyway because I have issues with nightshades.

I just found all these curries and stuff (Indian/Asian/etc.) at the store, affordably priced, and THEY HAVE CANOLA OR SUNFLOWER OIL IN THEM.

Every sauce I checked had this in it.

Every.

One.

I'm pretty alright at making Mexican food but I'm looking to switch to some other stuff, so I wanted to try these curries and friends.
@ironfist

Both of these brands make various curries, and last I checked (you never know when the company might change things so always read the labels) they both only use olive oil, coconut oil/purée, or butter.

Note that there is a small amount (half gram) of pufa in some of them due to ingredients like some hemp seeds. However, since trace pufa is nearly unavoidable and I believe Ray suggested a limit of 4 grams a day, I would still consider these quite acceptable.

Hope this helps.

Yeah it's a drag. That has really limited my choice of foods. fwiw Trader Joes has a Misal Curry dinner that uses coconut oil and sprouted beans. It's pretty good and reasonably priced. Product of India

It gets worse, at least where I live. The Powers that Be seem to require all restaurants to only cook with omega 6's. I haven't eaten out care free in over 8 years. Olive oil is something like 12% PUFA, Ray Peat advised limiting it to about 1/2 teas/day. Sob. I stick with hydrogenated coconut oil (aka 92degree coconut oil). If cooking with it and you need liquid, just melt it first. There's really no taste to it. It makes great popcorn. Butter is good too.
