Calcium To Phosphorus Ratio In Chocolate/Eating Chocolate After A Meal

Hello Everyone,
I was looking at the Ca to P ratio of chocolate on Nutrition Data, and it appears the ratio is skewed in favor of P. What do you think of this? Perhaps it's not much of a concern if you only consume an ounce per day.

An ounce of unsweetened chocolate will give you a Ca to P ratio of 1:4 .

Is it better to eat chocolate after a meal as opposed to before? I listened to a Ray Peat interview where he stated that drinking coffee after a meal was preferable. Drinking coffee before a meal produces too much NO, which accelerates the aging process. I was thinking the same likely applied to chocolate.

Blessings,
Andrew

Eat milk chocolate. :):

ca : p is about 1:1 in milk chocolate

Nobody eats backing chocolate :wtf:

Nitric oxide in your blood vessels is good.
Nitric oxide in your mitochondria is bad.

Eating 30g of dark chocolate a day reduces high blood pressure and lowers blood lipids.

Don't worry and enjoy your food.

Good idea about eating milk chocolate. And thanks for clarifying the role of NO in the blood vessels vs the mitochondria.

I eat baking chocolate, believe it or not. The owner of the local chocolate shop makes me a drinking chocolate using 100% cacao, and I bring my own stevia for sweetening. :)
