Forbes has an interesting article about egg-processing regulations in the US vs Europe.
I found two tidbits interesting for those making eggshell calcium with US eggs:
1) Detergent is used to clean them, which also washes off most of their protective "cuticle".
2) The eggs are sometimes sprayed with mineral oil.
I'm hoping both of those things will be thoroughly removed when boiling the eggshells. Does anyone know one way or the other?
