A fructose question.
In an effort to get my body to start burning sugar and limit the fat around my middle, I just started eating fructose-only for my sugar (instead of honey, table sugar). I love how it sweetens OJ, and today I must've done 3/4 cup if not more. I'm also working on cutting fat to negligible for the time being.
Does anyone know what problems fructose-only might cause if I did it for a long time in large amounts? If I understand it, fructose will not affect insulin. But if the cells can't take in the fructose, what might happen with constant high blood levels of fructose? I have a lot of bloat and water retention right now.
Just trying to understand and know what to watch out for.
thanks
