Canned cod liver - how does Omega 3 temporarily make you feel better?

Hi everyone.

I'm in the process of resolving some health issues and dialing in my diet.

Could someone please explain to me how omega 3 rich foods make one feel better temporarily, as I've read this somewhere.

Whenever I eat canned cod liver (with the oil), or cod roe (both high in omega 3 as well as Vit D), I feel like I get a sort-of relief/feel better. My GI seems to become less sensitive when I do that.

What's the mechanism/reasons behind this?

Thank you!

Welcome. Temporary suppression of inflammatory agents at the expense of long term mitochondrial dysfunction. I was right there...

With that said though, I keep cod liver cans but would fully drain them if I had to eat them.
