I thought that Europe was faring a lot better than Oz right now, in terms of eased restrictions? I was chatting with my friend from Berlin, who was doing lines of blow at a party, and said she had just come back from a Parisian holiday, and was moving to Munich next week and planning a trip to Italy etc.

NONE of that is possible where I live right now. I got chastised by a passerby yesterday for daring to walk from my apartment to my car (parked INSIDE the property) without a mask. Fun times.

It has returned to normal in some countries but alarmism of potential second waves is still being pumped, masks are legislated for in some countries and sporadic lockdowns still. There is no data or science allowed anymore to justify this. Sweden must be promoted as being a disaster when it clearly is not.
The narrative keeps changing also, at first it’s was flatten the curve and don’t overwhelm hospitals , it was all about deaths, all of this has disappeared from the narrative now and it’s all about cases from flawed PCR tests , people who have little to no symptoms being put down as sars-cov-2 when the tests is testing for common cold coronaviruses.
Expect odd narrative changes as it progresses in Australia, lockdowns don’t work as we seen here, masks do little to nothing.

It’s a sad experience when you experience first hand how many people are authoritarian in nature in times of "crisis", they come out of the woodwork. My guess is those areas of Australia need financial bailouts of some sort and covid19 is being used to justify it.

This is really good and France needed it, the French are extremely vigilant when it comes to health, they are easily spooked by illnesses and the threat of them, nothing else could have worked to justify the measures taken there, their will be a lot of pent up anger if they discover the reality of the covid19 hysteria.

That’s good to hear.
It’s still a little disconcerting how aggressive the authorities behaved in Australia, it leaned more toward community policing in Europe for the most part, encouraging people and many went with it because they believed it was a deadly virus, the impression I get from police is that they don’t want to enforce covid restrictions even more so now we have the data, they don’t have the moral or desire for a police state.
I’m genuinely shocked by the New Zealand public’s response to Jacinda Aherne, they rolled over completely, they must have socialist leanings in the majority there?

It will be interesting this weekend to see how the police behave with protests going ahead in Germany against covid restrictions, the German government have banned the protest but by all accounts it’s going ahead. If the police use excessive force they will loose respect.

Most of the supporters on social media are fake accounts , many from China pumping lockdown propaganda, social media is pickled with shilling. Politicians need to pull their heads out of the social media bubble and start listening to people at street level.

I disagree. Perhaps I’m naive but I just don’t think our gov is operating under any conspiracy. I think they’re just convinced that elimination of the virus, similar to New Zealand, is the only way out of this. They believe they are saving lives and they believe the virus is so deadly that we cannot risk opening too soon.

They’ve just announced today that lockdowns are extended (now longer than Wuhan or Italy) and that they’re not projected to be ended entirely until Nov 26th and case numbers get below 5 per day.

It’s insane, I’m furious but there’s nothing you can do. No one is allowed outside of 5km from their house except for work or medical, masks are mandatory everywhere at all times. Meanwhile, the other states we share a border with are living virtually perfectly normally with no significant covid restrictions in place.

Oh...they also moved the curfew to 9pm (from 8pm) which is very kind of them...

Do you see the logic? If they really thought so, why are they thinking that way if they can see other places doing fine? They know about the way deaths are being counted. They know that the science doesn't support any effectivity of masks. They know the "pandemic" (that happens every flu season) is over since spring, they know the numbers. Yet they force people to wear masks and stay at home. They are not stupid, they just think the people are so stupid that they can do what they want and get away with it.

Germany openly said the masks are symbolic "to remind you it's not over", even though the numbers show no activity. I don't know what happens in your country, but Merkel and her goons are all involved with vaccines and pharma. Merkel is part of GAVI alliance with Gates. Spahn our health minister is a listed pharma lobbyist his whole carreer and just bought a multi million dollar mansion in the middle of the "crisis". They are already cashing in with our data from COVID apps and the likes, and many are going to have a big payday once the vaccine gets rolled out, that's why they try everything in their power to keep the artificial panic up.

I understand there are strict importing laws in Australian history because of viruses and bacteria taking hold in the environment so it’s possible they are treating it this way.
The problem is they have data available from other countries yet ignore it, it’s too late to act in a risk adverse manner, same with New Zealand.

Yeah you may both be right @boris and I may be too naive. I don’t trust them, I just feel like they’re more dumb than evil. They acknowledge its only killing old people, but they say old people’s lives matter.

I was disappointed in the reporters at the big press conference / announcement of extended lockdowns yesterday. Not one of them asked about the latest data showing that more people died last year from jan-July in nursing homes than this year. Not one asked why our lockdowns needed to be longer than Wuhan or Italy, and what the government has done with that time to get us out.

The underlying premise of the entire press conference was that we have to beat the virus and we can’t risk opening up or it will spread and we’ll have a 3rd wave. All the questions were about details regarding decisions based on that premise.

There are plenty of victorians who believe it’s all a scam, and that the premier has to go or our prime minister has to step in and do something. Nothing will be done. We’ve done 6 weeks of curfews and not being allowed to move outside of 5km of our homes, and now it’s another 6 weeks.
