Q: What is the difference between Sugar and Organic Sugar?
A: Unless specifically noted as Cane Sugar, all Sugar is from Sugar Beets. According to the FDA, 99% of all U.S. Sugar Beets are Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) designed to tolerate pesticides. So, essentially any time you see ‘Sugar’ as an ingredient, it is a GMO. Organic Sugar is not a GMO; by legal definition, USDA Certified Organic Products cannot be Genetically Modified.
