Dog is alive too, but I don't trust the docs who are telling me this. Maybe the owner lied to them.
We have been avoiding the rabies vaccine with our dogs as they get older by doing a titer (Cornell). Our vet herself had rabies as a kid, now in her 30's and said she is still showing adequate levels, so she is on board for not vaccinating, knowing the risk is with us. We got initial @ 6 months and a booster 1 year later, then keep doing the titers as a record. Our doggie daycare does recognize & allow the titer as well, so hopefully we are seeing a shift in requirements.
