I thought you were joking. I told my husband about it and discovered that he once had a pet rat too before I met him. His Raty died naturally and he buried him in his backyard. I hope your rat improves greatly!
You may be unaware, but around here, when asking for what could be construed as medical advice, many folks ask about treating a rat when it's really about asking about treating a human. Those who answer about treating a rat thus avoid legalistic misunderstandings and accusations about practicing medicine, if you catch my drift.
