Does it mention anywhere what 'parameters' he changed?

I've had many days where I went without sleep for the night, and just continued on into the next day. Some occasions, when things got bad, it would extend to 48+hrs of waking consciousness. However I don't think I ever went 72 hours consecutive hours awake.

Everyday experiences can get very surreal, in some very brief moments you feel like you're dreaming.

This guy was hardcore.

The longest I've done was around 48, but it was from caffeine or some supplement interaction, or MSG.

His name is Tony Wright. He wrote a book, Left in the dark.

http://leftinthedark.org.uk/Introduction

A new theory of human evolution, proposed by Tony Wright and Graham Gynn in ‘Left in the Dark’, convincingly argues that the human brain owes part of its extraordinary development to the biochemistry of a specialist fruit diet. The hormone-related chemicals in tropical fruit initiated an internal hormone mechanism that increasingly promoted brain growth and elevated neural activity. When humans were forced from their tropical forest ‘Garden of Eden’ some two hundred thousand years ago, this link with biochemically rich fruit was lost.

 Holy f#$@ that seems like it would be hell.

A couple months ago I stayed up from 6:00AM to 5:00PM of the following day in order to get a job that I was working on done before going on vacation. There is a point where you get really tired and then once you pass that you get a second bought of energy (probably stress hormones). I was fine on day 2 until about 5:00 and I basically blacked out (I was finished the job by then). I was working hard the entire time though so that's not surprising.

yea that happened to me Shultz...throughout the night I was dosing off but managed to stay awake, once day hit I felt wired and slightly high, and ended up doing hours of yardwork...but as soon as I came into contact with other people and kinda talking I realized that I was on edge and kinda trippin, so it probably is just a massive stress hormone rush

I remember once working through the night, then just carried on the next day, and worked through the next night.

Then I got to the point where I just could not remember my critical logon password for work.

Can't quite remember how long it took to get it back, but it might have been 24 hours, and it took me several days with normal sleep to get back to normal. I've never done anything quite like that again, and I really don't advise it! Scary. - well, much younger people might get away with it. I wasn't particularly young at that time. (50+).
