Hello everyone,

My girlfriend and I have elevated body temperature and think it’s due to an infection. She is at 37.5 C right now and I‘m up to 38.3 C. I only have some mild body aches, feeling a bit cold/shivery and fatigue.

I don’t know if I should take my normal thyroid dose while having a fever. What do you think?

I think it is helpful when you are sick. Feel better!

Yes. The body becomes hypothyroid during acute infection due to moblising iodine (including ripping it out of endogenous thyroid hormones). Give it some iodide, or thyroid hormone if you must.

Yeah it should help if you take your usual dose. T3 is anti-endotoxin.

Thanks y‘all. Took a break from thyroid yesterday. But my girlfriends bodytemp increased to 38.5 C (she does not take thyroid) so I felt confident that our high temperature has nothing to do with my thyroid dose.

Continue T4/T3 today.
