For my whole life I've thought that I'm just a person who has low body temperature. Whenever I would measure my armpit temperature, the thermometer would show around 36C / 96.8F. Even now I'm at 35.8C.
Here is where it gets interesting: just earlier today I spontaneously got the idea to measure my oral temperature with the same thermometer. Bang, it was exactly 37C / 98.6F. All the while my armpit was giving more than a full degree lower reading.
How can this be? I am aware that armpit temperatures are slightly lower than oral, but this much? I don't know what to think. What could it mean?
