I'm confused about ideal temperatures, because you can measure in about 6 different orifices and pits. And they all differ and by up to 2 degrees. Where do the common stats thrown around e.g. 97.8 - 98.6f etc upon waking refer to?
I started using standard digital thermometers for axillary temps. But it took ages to get a steady reading and was super unreliable. Oral was also super unreliable and affected by food/drink. The quickest and more reliable thermometer I've managed to find is a braun thermoscan for ear temps. I believe it's medical grade and doesn't vary much over a few repeats.
What are ideal temperature readings for ear / tympanic measurement?
Kind regards, Johnson
