Well, just got back from my dr. and told him I would like to try thyroid supplement to see if it would help my exhaustion, depression, etc. Told him I was pretty confident thats what the problem is and that maybe I am having some kind of thyroid resistance or something.

A nurse practitioner once told me the "thyroid" test actually tests pituitary function, not the actual thyroid.

Indeed, you don't even have to have a thyroid gland to test "normal" for TSH. When my doctor didn't understand that I said goodbye.
Charlie, it sounds like your doc has been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool. :P
