Peat mentions a dentist who recommends laxatives instead of anesthesia for his patients, to control pain. Laxatives are supposed to lower cortisol and estrogen.
Anyone have experience with laxatives, and can attest to them lowering estrogenic symptoms like edema?
Which laxative is best? Fiber type laxatives like cascara, psyllium husk, wheat grits, or stimulatory ones like senna, or things like "salt water flush" or osmotic laxatives?
Any herbs or other things you've found good for this purpose? Any pharma ones which are safe to use?
I find cascara and fiberous things like wheat grits or oats to be too irritating, I feel strange on them. They also seem to increase edema rather than decrease it.
