Just wanted to chime in and report that I have lost some weight over the last few months. I was 234 (I am six foot three) and then my pants started falling and I kept putting new holes in my existing belts. I am now 223. If I had to guess, something improved my insulin sensitivity because I feel like I can last longer on the same amount of food I normally eat (perhaps my glycogen reserves have improved and I dont get hangry as often). My guess is the Vitamin D, Thiamine, Vitamin A, Pansterone, Androsterone.... No clue.

I am 43 years of age, and have been 235 for a few years, at one point in my early to mid thirties, I weighed about 170 and then after I hit 215, I maxed out at 235. I still consume about 500 calories from alcohol alone, and at one point, I consumed about a thousand daily just from alcohol, but I do not think this is alcohol related.

Thanks! I've found a vegan diet to be very helpful recently. Never ever thought I would say that, but right now it does seem to work (at least in a positive direction). I mean Peat was into the idea of eating low protein if you're in a sick state, and here Haidut mentions how you need the anti catabolic hormones to process it, to not having it converted to glucose and toxic byproducts like ammonia.
