Does Apigenin lowers allopregnalone

It does seem to slightly inhibit 5AR, but moreso 3a-HSD. At 100uM (a very high dose) it lowered 5AR by about 50%.
3a-HSD converts 5alpha-progesterone to allopregnanolone and DHT to 3a-diol. So in essence it inhibits allopregnanolone synthesis a bit, while preventing DHT breakdown, at least to 3a-diol.
Keep in mind that when you supplement, most of it is converted to some other metabolite before being absorbed. So to get 100uM specifically in the brain, you'd likely have to inject it.
