I was looking around for a zinc supplement and quite a few of them have this as an additive,
or even as a secondary "active substance", Vitamins / Minerals - Zinc Picolinate for instance.

Is it safe? I would guess that vit C + a metal like zinc would be a bad combo inside the body.
What do we know about ascorbyl palmitate?

I've seen Ascorbyl Palmitate used as an excipient in some supplements. Is it problematic?

Vitamin C derivative ascorbyl palmitate promotes ultraviolet-B-induced lipid peroxidation and cytotoxicity in keratinocytes. - PubMed - NCBI

Here's an example:

I wanted to love this product but unfortunately, the ascorbyl palmitate is made from fermented corn which in turn flared my mold allergy. If you have a mold allergy - do not consume.

Question:
Is there corn in this product or in any Pure Encapsulations products
Answer:
Other products may have corn but according to Pure Encapsulations,
"All Pure Encapsulations ingredients, including those derived from corn are GMO free. This means that we have obtained statements from our suppliers certifying that the ingredients do not contain GMO. For some nutrients of particular concern, we have … see more

No corn. Besides the magnesium Glycinate there is ascorbyl palmitate & vegetarian capsule (cellulise, water) in other ingredients. Does say no allergens, additives, etc. I have found that all of the products seem to be very pure, hence the name! Goid luck!

Not ground corn but a corn derivative is in this specific product. If the consumer is eating corn without a problem, this magnesium product should not trigger an allergic reaction related to corn. If the consumer has an allergy to corn products, the manufacturer’s website is clear and transparent that its fat soluble Vitamin C, also known as ascorbyl palmitate, is created from fermented corn. Natural Vitamin C is water soluble. Why does fat or water soluble matter? Fat soluble Vitamin C is stored in the human body until it’s needed. Water soluble Vitamin C not typically stored, and the excess is excreted in urine. aIn my case, my doctor prescribed this specific brand and composition of Magnesium several years ago. I later was diagnosed with GERD (gastric reflux) and a hiatal hernia. This product no longer is compatible with other health situations and aggravated the gastric reflux hiatal hernia situation. I will try a different composition of Magnesium. For the years I used this brand of Magnesium, the result was great. I planned to purchase this product from Amazon but after more research into Magnesium and what’s mixed into the Magnesium, I switched to a form recommended by Dr. Sanjay Gupta. If you are on the fence about this brand and do not have corn allergies, I can say that the magnesium in this product was effective for the purposes for which it was prescribed. The Magnesium is a higher quality than ultra cheap store brands. I can say a lot about ultra cheap store brand Magnesium. All Magnesium pills and capsules are not created equally. If the other formulation of Magnesium is ineffective or triggers other problems, I will return to this Pure brand. I have complications related to osteoporosis so I really need Magnesium - it’s not an option. You know what you are buying when you buy the Pure label brand. If the other formulation does not work as needed - I’ll be back to Pure Encapsulations brand. For detailed information on the corn product derivative ascorbyl palmitate please see the manufacturer’s website at https://www.pureencapsulations.com/media/Ascorbyl_Palmitate.pdf see less

No corn products are listed on the magnesium (glycinate). I don't know about their other products.

No, there is none on this one. I have no idea about the rest, but it is a good brand, I doubt it that hey would add corn on anything..

Me: Is the liposomal method of delivery of nutrients good? I made my own liposomal C from a formula obtained from the web. I had to use high-phosphatidylcholine lecithin for it. When I took it, I couldn't sleep the whole night as I felt hungry and low in blood sugar. I suspect it was the PUFA that caused it. I stopped using liposomal after this experience. Is there a good basis for me staying away from liposomal formulations?

Ray: The liposomal formulations are entirely for marketing. Things like insulin can be dissolved in oil, and the digestive process incorporates the oil into chylomicrons, i.e., liposomes.
