The Amish get a lot of things right!

In my area they don't believe in COVID - they call it an "English disease."

(We're the 'English.')

They edited the heck out of what the mennonite man really thought of it all.

These people are so full of wisdom and grace.

Makes me wonder who hired who for the “crazy shooter“ that opened fire on them a few years ago.
Protect them.

Fascinating. Good for them. Growing up, I always thought of the Amish as "those old-fashioned people with horse-drawn carriages, who wear 16th century clothes." Now, I see the superficiality in this way of viewing them. Their way of life seems incredibly thoughtful, intentional, and courageous.

I think as a kid, I got imbued with the idea that old-fashioned lifestyles, just like people from the "old days" of prior centuries, lived dry, stuffy, boring, stoic lives. And I extrapolated all these assumptions onto the Amish, based on superficial judgments about how they live. Everything wonderful in a person -- sense of humor, ability to connect and love others, desire to identify and stand up for what really matters to you, appreciation for the natural world, artistic expression, reflection on ourselves, our growth, and what it means to be alive -- hasn't changed for millennia.
