Almost everyone you meet is addicted to a plant pesticide, a poison that acts as a central nervous system stimulant.

Here Andrew Huberman admits that most of the studies on caffeine can not be taken at face value:

"Because 90% or more of adults consume caffeine, finding controls for studies is really challenging. That is, finding people who don't ingest caffeine regularly is a very challenging task for the researcher and as a consequence many of the studies of caffeine on human beings involve depriving regular caffeine users of caffeine and then examining the effects of caffeine given after a period of say 5-15 days of abstinence in a person that is essentially experiencing mild withdrawal symptoms because they haven't had the caffeine they were used to getting. (...) It's a point that likely exacerbates the observed pro-performance effects of caffeine."

Well, that seems to be a bit of an understatement. It not only exacerbates them, it makes it impossible to know the effects of actual chronic use.

You still care about clinical trials?

None of this supposed toxicity shows up in epidemiology.
