Magnesium + Vitamin B6/ B complex

Hey

I bought this supplement so to have magnesium supplement until some other order arrives.

Ingredients: magnesium oxide (60.5%); Fillers: microcrystalline cellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone; Separating agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids; L-arginine hydrochloride (1.1%); Inositol (0.9%); Glazing agent: hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose; Caking agent: silicon dioxide; Dye: titanium dioxide; Caking agent: talc; Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6 0.08%); Oil, vegetable (coconut).


So... I see the ingredients aren't the best. I took only two tablets. Both at the evening. Day before yesterday and yesterday. Tonight? I am not sure...
Now I have very laxative issues. Yesterday morning (after 1st tablet) I had problems. Just in case I took one more time another tablet yesterday evening and since then I am having constant visits to toilet :) :oops:

Is this product that bad??

In my country I can get only bad Mg supplements. Obviously.
I am thinking in ordering supplements from iHerb (see the photo).
I guess this would be totally another story? I don't wanna waste my money as I already did with that mg+b6 :)

Different forms of magnesium have a different laxative effect based on their absorption rates. Magnesium oxide is very poorly absorbed.
B6 generally helps with absorption, but i still wouldn't use magnesium oxide.
I think magnesium bicarbonate is one of the best forms, mainly because you can actually take several hundred milligrams without sh***ing your pants.

I assume you're german.
I got some magnesium hydroxide of ebay and make my own magnesium bicarbonate water with it.

Take a little bit of b6(p5p) along with it if you are planning on using higher dosages of magnesium bicarbonate.

Some people have attributed the laxative effect of magnesium to a lack of absorption, and from the material I've seen magnesium oxide is very poorly absorbed. The forms ending in 'ate' (like bicarbonate) are better absorbed, so much less likely to cause 911 pants.

I have laxative effect from magnesium chloride. When I drink around 30g(1g is around 120 mg of magnesium..) So I absorb at least 2500 mg of magnesium without laxative effect. But still hot bath is far superior. Skin as largest organ will absorb much more...

Haha :))

Well I had a magnesium malate before but ran out of it and that's why I bought these in a store to substitute for a while.
Now I am thinking if buying malate one more time is okay or perhaps order ionised Mg. Malate seemed fine to me.
I am not from Germnay but we have Muller (german store) :)

I don't consider myself knowledgeable enough to advise people on things that I haven't tried myself (I do research the things I try pretty thoroughly). None of those ingredients jump out at me as being a real problem but I don't know what fillers there are or what amounts of each nutrient is inside. My personal preference is to stay away from complex combination supplements because its harder to track effects and I prefer to keep a minimal amount of supps in the mix. Personally I only do the mag+b6 (which I take as 40mg liquid pyridoxine) and then the 4 fat solubles. P5p would probably be safer so I will get that next time but I don't get any noticible side effects from pyridoxine. The magnesiums I've tried and liked are Bluebonnet and KAL
