On the flipside, not sure if the hyperthyroid state means enhanced expression.....

"Male pups with transient gestational hypothyroidism showed subnormal levels of serum testosterone, and estradiol, along with decreased expression of Ar, and 5α-reductase activity in the epididymis of pre-puberal rats at postnatal day"

My question is we know it can enhance 5AR in the endocrine system but what about brain/nervous system? I assume since T3 crosses the BBB it can?

I'am hypothyroid and my DHEA and DHT is very low. I have heard that Hyperthyroid patients do have excessive DHT

Yes, it crosses the BBB and should affect 5-AR in the brain as well. I don't think T3 is selective in terms of where it boosts 5-AR activity.
