Anyone else on a here a loyal purchaser of Friendship cottage cheese because it is 1 of 2 national brands without fillers/thickeners/stabilizers? I have been eating their 4% CC for years now and just happened to glance at the ingredients today and to my disappointment carrageenan and locust gum are now both listed :( Why can't companies just sell plain food anymore?

they just want to be your friend! and have a nice uniform cookie cutter product...for the plastic people

really though its all about uniformity of products they assume customers want the same thing reliably over and over...its kinda sad, its why produce departments always have underripe wax coated fruit, anything that looks a little non picture perfect (which is how good fruit ready to eat often looks) they throw it out, not even save it or give it away, throw it out

capitalism and ignorant people disconnected from nature and who only look at magazine pictures of things and are used to uniform plastic mold products have led to a majorly degraded food supply. Just do the best you can, you can always usually find at least one version of a food that is just itself
