Chlorphenamine

I have been taking Piriton SYRUP (chlorphenamine maleate) for hayfever relief, because cetirizine caused unbearable fatigue. I was surprised to learn that chlorphenamine is, along with cyproheptadine, a first-generation antihistamine. Does anyone know if it has positive properties similar to cyproheptadine, other than providing hayfever relief? Is it also a serotonin antagonist to any considerable extent? A quick search yielded a few mentions of antidepressant and anti-anxiety potential. Are there any good reasons NOT to take it? (They'd have to be pretty good, because it does help with the hayfever).

Thanks, clever people!

EDIT: Further research has yielded statements about chlorphenamine actually being a SEROTONERGIC drug! Oh no! Can anyone shed some light?
