Been applying Peat principals, diet and supplements for around 4 years and very little has made much difference.
Last bloodwork showed high androgens but I still experience poor sleep, libido, exercise tolerance and worsening body composition.
I'd held off because it seemed like a relatively...
Whenever a news articles contains the phrase "endocrine disruptor" most people automatically think of chemicals like BPA, BPS and other related plasticisers. BPA and its related chemicals are known thyroid antagonists, estrogen agonists and androgen antagonists. The material commonly known as...
Daily supplementation with mushroom (Agaricus bisporus) improves balance and working memory in aged rats. - PubMed - NCBI
Rats on the 2% or 5% mushroom-supplemented diet consumed more food, without gaining weight, than rats in the other diet groups. Rats in the 0.5% and 1% group stayed on a...
Those who gained weight on cypro, did you find that it was gradual? Sort of increased overall appetite, rather than a sudden hunger attack? Were you aware of increased appetite or was it a sudden need to eat? I tried ritanserin where I'd get anxiety if I didn't take it on full stomach and had to...
If this is in the popular press, then it must be true, right? Joking aside, I am glad that at least the idea of too much estrogen causing obesity is out there and supplemental progesterone for men is not condemned as sacrilege.

In yet another confirmation of Ray's ideas, this study shows that mice on a high fat diet did not gain weight when supplemented with the extra amount of 4% salt in their diet. The 4% extra dietary salt is equivalent to about 30g of extra salt for a human per day. Peat said in one of his...
edit: substituted "particularly" for "especially" fattening in subject line to actually say what I meant.
Since my last question opened up a scintillating debate that was as far reaching as it was insightful, I thought I'd throw out another one.
Why would dairy fat cause weight gain or...
Nuts and granola are no longer an option and I can only drink so much whole milk every day...Please suggest some calorie-dense Peat foods/snacks! So far I've found: Whipping cream (35%F), coconut milk, Oskry bars (230 calories a bar - just coconut and brown rice syrup). I'm also trying to avoid...

For a long time the only functions attributed to the skeleton were locomotion and calcium storage. Over the last decade, this view has changed. Genetic studies in mice have shown that bone metabolism is regulated by the autonomic nervous system and...

I think we all know that stress makes you fat, but this is more specific and measured how much stress affects your weight.
The study used a high-fat diet, which probably aggravated the wight gain even more, but the overall diet was not hypercaloric.
The 11lbs of fat per year is nothing to laugh...
Another confirmation of Peat's quote on the front page about stress-metabolism connection. Some other interesting "findings" as well - i.e. saturated fat is..gasp..not bad for us! It is stress that ruins us.

I have read so many of these posts where people find they feel great on Peat, and symptoms improve. . . but their waistline goes up. Does it have to be that way?? I mean, is there any way to eat this way and not gain weight? I"m at a good weight for my height, and I do not want to gain weight...
Hello Everyone:
