Quick question
I see on the boards dopamine agonists being promoted.
Some for good reason(medical reasons) but I see it being off label to promote well being, assisting in better help.
With the potential of DAWS, is using something like bromocriptine wise for lowering prolactin levels...
What is the best prescription drug for it? I see here doctors prescribe in general Carbergoline and rarely Bromocriptine?
Is Bromocriptine better than Cabergoline?
Has one more affinity to boosting serotonin than the other? Of there's isn't any issue like that.
Are other types like Lisuride...
Ask any doctor if loss of hope can kill and he/she will laugh in your face. Even if you use the more scientific term "learned helplessness" you will still be laughed out of the room. Well, the study below shows that "give-up-itis" (GUI) is quite real and can reliably kill a person if it takes a...
Read a lot of this today and figured it would be a great share for some. Contains a lot of info at bromocriptine. Have to thank @tyw for the heads up on this as I had seen it in one of his posts.

Because of high prolactin levels, weight gain seems to get accelerated. Was wondering if anyone has any experiences of using either of the two drugs, and which one would be most effective.
Thank You
I've tried everything to get my pulse and temp up without it being from adrenaline and I mean everything, including Ritanserin, T4, T3, caffeine, etc.
Nothing has brought them up until I took 1.25mg of Bromocriptine today for the first time.
I thought I've read stuff where it could potentially...
I've started topical bormocriptine, 1.25mg with DMSO, got the idea from a post by Haidut mentioning it.
Day 3 now. Noticed good bowel movements, feeling good, maybe higher libido although it's always high.
I'll keep you posted.
Anyone else trying this or tried it?
Ray wrote about the usage of drugs like bromocriptine as an actual cure for certain types of cancer. He did not specify which cancers but given the causative role of prolactin in both breast and prostate cancer, I'd suspect these two were on his list. These studies below show that prolactin...
Your doctor probably does not know that bromocriptine is approved for the treatment of type II diabetes. Even if she/he did know about it, the cited mechanism of action is "unkown" or a "mystery". But at least, it is a step in the right direction - i.e. away from serotonin, estrogen and...
I think this is a pretty important study as it provides further evidence of the close relationship between various biomarkers of stress such as prolactin, estrogen, and cortisol. As Ray said, estrogen is really not a female hormone but rather the stress hormone. Prolactin is pretty similar, and...
Given the role of NO in endotoxin-inflammation-obesity axis, reducing NO synthesis would probably explain a good deal of bromocriptine's anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, and anti-cancer activity. If alpha-adrenergic "receptor" agonism was the main beneficial mechanism in bromocriptine's anti-obesity...
Many people on the forum are former or current users of PPI drugs or H2 antagonists. Most of these drugs (ith the possible exception of famotidine) have bad side effects that can persist years after a person stops taking the drugs.
This study says that there is no need for taking those drugs...
Having read the works of Dr Peat and been to numerous endocrine specialists, I believe I need to begin taking Bromocriptine. I have low libido, low testosterone and have been diagnosed with a Pitituary Adenoma. I am diagnosed Hypothyroid, low T4/T3, with hypogonadism.
I live in the UK, how can...
Ray wrote that cacao has bromocriptine, which I have not been able to verify, but there is a study that backs up his claim.

I took parlodel for 5 weeks at 2.5 dose daily for anti-ageing and serotinin issues.

Hi Everyone,
I have been suffering from anhedonia (loss of pleasure, no excitement, detachment, etc) I was wondering if bromocriptine or LDN would be useful to experiment with? Any opinions, experiences?
