Single cell longevity studies

I was thinking that probably there have been studies of single cells and attempts to lengthen their lifespan/keep alive indefinitely. But I'm having trouble actually finding such research.
Do any of you happen to know of any such studies?
I'm also wondering how a 'Ray Peat style' study on a single cell would be conducted and what would be the conclusions.
